From 341ef606da3e17747949b67895300550db6aed9b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Ralph Corderoy Date: Sun, 16 Apr 2017 00:35:11 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Remove unneeded `\&' from man pages. The zero-width character is used before a command character that is intended to be literal but may end up at the start of a line. Similarly, it's used after an end-of-sentence character when it may end up at the end of the line but isn't the end of a sentence. Remove the other cases because they're noise that confuses the issue of when `\&' should be used. --- man/anno.man | 2 +- man/ap.man | 2 +- man/dist.man | 2 +- man/mh-folders.man | 2 +- man/mh-format.man | 2 +- man/mh-profile.man | 6 +++--- man/mh-sequence.man | 6 +++--- man/mh-tailor.man | 4 ++-- man/mhbuild.man | 2 +- man/mhfixmsg.man | 2 +- man/mhl.man | 2 +- man/mhlist.man | 2 +- man/mhpath.man | 2 +- man/mhshow.man | 2 +- man/mhstore.man | 2 +- man/msgchk.man | 2 +- man/new.man | 2 +- man/next.man | 2 +- man/nmh.man | 4 ++-- man/packf.man | 4 ++-- man/pick.man | 6 +++--- man/prev.man | 2 +- man/prompter.man | 2 +- man/rcvdist.man | 2 +- man/rcvstore.man | 2 +- man/rcvtty.man | 2 +- man/refile.man | 2 +- man/repl.man | 2 +- man/rmf.man | 2 +- man/rmm.man | 2 +- man/scan.man | 2 +- man/send.man | 2 +- man/sendfiles.man | 2 +- man/show.man | 2 +- man/slocal.man | 22 +++++++++++----------- man/sortm.man | 2 +- man/whatnow.man | 2 +- man/whom.man | 2 +- 38 files changed, 57 insertions(+), 57 deletions(-) diff --git a/man/anno.man b/man/anno.man index f38b4692..0ee8b984 100644 --- a/man/anno.man +++ b/man/anno.man @@ -154,7 +154,7 @@ switch allows time preservation to be turned off, if enabled in the profile. .SH FILES .TP 20 -$HOME/\&.mh\(ruprofile +$HOME/.mh\(ruprofile The user's profile. .SH "PROFILE COMPONENTS" .PD 0 diff --git a/man/ap.man b/man/ap.man index ae5c7297..5a7913db 100644 --- a/man/ap.man +++ b/man/ap.man @@ -72,7 +72,7 @@ the address. .SH FILES .PD 0 .TP 20 -$HOME/\&.mh\(ruprofile +$HOME/.mh\(ruprofile The user's profile. .TP %nmhetcdir%/mts.conf diff --git a/man/dist.man b/man/dist.man index 993e1ee1..a01616a7 100644 --- a/man/dist.man +++ b/man/dist.man @@ -216,7 +216,7 @@ The default message skeleton. /distcomps The user's message skeleton. .TP 20 -$HOME/\&.mh\(ruprofile +$HOME/.mh\(ruprofile The user's profile. .TP 20 /draft diff --git a/man/mh-folders.man b/man/mh-folders.man index 24e62a50..dd26ca42 100644 --- a/man/mh-folders.man +++ b/man/mh-folders.man @@ -168,7 +168,7 @@ The user's context. $MHCONTEXT Overrides the above context. .TP 20 -/\&.mh\-sequences +/.mh\-sequences Public sequences for . .SH "SEE ALSO" .IR flist (1), diff --git a/man/mh-format.man b/man/mh-format.man index 760b208e..9c9880ca 100644 --- a/man/mh-format.man +++ b/man/mh-format.man @@ -115,7 +115,7 @@ These are combined into the conditional execution construct: .nf .RI "%< " condition " " "format-text" .RI "%?
