77 zone M, then E, and finally T). I took military zones out, and
78 things seem much better. Also, the default behavior of parsing
79 time zones appears to default to GMT in the absence of better

272 In the map_write routine, a call is made to map_open and this

276 calling the mbx_Xopen routine. In nmh, the code for mbx_Xopen
277 was merged into mbx_open, but the interface for mbx_open
278 doesn't support the clear variable, so that functionality was
279 lost. The map_open interface still contains "int *clear" in
280 the prototype, but never sets it.
282 My patch eliminates "clear" from the map_open interface (I
283 checked to make sure that map_write is the only client of
284 map_open). Furthermore, my patch also sets the "clear"
285 variable properly at the beginning of map_write by calling
286 fstat(). This eliminates the bug in that the value of "clear"
287 being used later in the routine was just stack garbage.
289 Having a bad value of clear causes this next bug to be
290 triggered: The fp file pointer was being opened with fdopen,

540 I've added a new file to the nmh tree called
541 ChangeLog_MH-3_to_MH-6.6. It's cobbled together from the
542 mh-6.8.4/papers/mh*/MHCHANGES files. I've re-ordered the entries
543 to go from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom to match the
544 ChangeLog convention. Unfortunately there are no change logs for
545 versions of MH prior to 3 in the MH tar files available at
546 <ftp://ftp.ics.uci.edu/pub/mh>. Also, it appears to me that there
547 are MH-6.6 changes that aren't documented in the logs.
549 I've also added ChangeLog_MH-6.7.0_to_MH-6.8.4.html. This is
550 based on mh-6.8.4/papers/changes/mh-changes.ms. The nroff format
551 and its "catman"-type output are a pain to deal with, but I was
552 loath to throw away the formatting, so I converted the file to
553 HTML. The only actual markup in the body are the "<B>" and "<U>"
554 tags, and "<" and ">" instead of '<' and '>', so it's quite
555 doable to view the file in plain ASCII mode as well. Note that
556 some of the changes this file documents as having been made in
557 MH-6.8.4 may not be present in nmh -- Richard started with 6.8.3
